Many exclusive models this month, but let’s start with the regular Tomica :
The new #77 is the Hino Profia truck from Nippon Express, the famous logistics company whose trucks can be seen on the roads all over Japan.
The new #106 on the other hand is an obscure Japanese sports car : the Tommykaira ZZ. This model has been released in two versions : yellow for the regular edition and red for the limited first release edition.
It’s been six months already since Tomica last released a train in the Tomica Long line. After the E7 type last September, this time is the Shinkansen E3 type. The regular edition is the new livery for the Tsubasa E3 sets while the first release limited edition is the replica of the Toreiyu Tsubasa excursion train only running on weekends. Both come with a sticker sheet (not pictured).
Now let’s see the exclusive models from various retailers. First is the already ultra popular Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG in matte gold sold at the Tomica Shops.
Toys R Us stores are enforcing the limit of one piece per customer for their Original Tomica models, with staff posted at every corner to make sure no one tries to get away with two. After Subaru, Mitsubishi and Calsonic, Honda is joining the collection. Ridiculously hard to get and sold out in a breeze despite the limit !
Aeon keeps going with their Tuning Car Series. The Toyota Ractis Race type is the 19th model in one of the very best Tomica collections. Aeon is not as strict as Toys R Us and fixed a reasonable limit of 3 pieces per customer.
Apita stores will release their exclusive Italian Flag version of the Toyota 2000GT next week-end, this post will be updated with pictures later.
No retailers exclusives are scheduled next month, but the new Tomica Premium line will show up very soon. Stay tuned for pictures of those highly anticipated resurrection of the Tomica Limited line !
