Event : All Japan Model & Hobby Show – Rai’s and F-Toys

Rai’s finally decided to add some variety to their 1/64 Japanese police cars collection after many variations of the Toyota Crown 180. In 2015 we will see Honda NSX, Nissan Fairlady Z432, Nissan Slyline GT-R R34 and R32 as well as Mazda RX-8 (and a bit more Crowns).

On the same booth the other brand from Hiko7, Car-nel, was introducing a new 1/64 line based on custom cars. First batch will be composed of 4 Nissan models, all of them available in two colors. There will be the Fairlady Z & 240ZG and Skyline GT-R KPGC10 & KPGC110. The models are quite good looking.

F-Toys was displaying the upcoming Skyline GT-R R32 Japan Touring Car Championship collection. Last F-Toys collection was surprizingly good and it seems the R32 collection will be from the same overall quality. The cars still feel like cheap plastic and the paint job isn’t perfect, but it’s still great value for under 800 yen.

This concludes the 1/64 scale presence at the All Japan Model & Hobby Show 2014 !

Event : All Japan Model & Hobby Show – Oversteer and Kyosho

Oversteer products could be found with 1/43 Hi-Story and Modeler’s, all of them being distributed by Interallied.

After the beautiful Toyota 86 and Mazda CX-5 (both amongst the finest 1/64 cars ever released in our opinion), the third model will be the Mazda Roadster RS. It is very similar to the 25th Anniversary edition recently sold by the Japan Post in Hiroshima and now we know it was Interallied who produced it. The RS version will be available in white, red, black, silver, gray and blue.

Oversteer also announced the Nissan GT-R Nismo and Nismo N-attack Package, exactly like Tomytec did. It will be very interesting to compare the final products from the two best 1/64 diecast makers. The prototype already looks very nice.

In contrast to Interallied’s tiny booth, Kyosho’s booth was huge and, as usual, focused mostly on RC models and slot cars.

In 1/64 scale the incredibly hard to find 2013 and 2014 JKB86 were on display but unfortunately not for sale.

The new Kyosho line consisting of recycled models from the SunKus collections was revealed to the public for the first time. All models come from the Ferrari Racing 2 and Lamborghini 5 collections, with new colors and an acrylic display case.

The first car to be available will be the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster (in red or gray). This one will be released in October with a booklet in collaboration with Model Car magazine. Release dates for the other cars are unknown (if they ever make it to the shelves). So far, it includes the Lamborghini Huracan, Miura P400, Jota, Gallardo, Murcielago R-GT, Countach LP500S and Silhouette, and the Ferrari 512BBLM, F40GTE and 599XX.

Another 1/64 car on display was the 2014 Toyota Hiace Super GL. As usual with Kyosho little is known yet.

And that’s it for 1/64. The resin line scheduled for a release last July has completely disappeared from Kyosho’s planning.

Not much things to see in 1/43 scale either. JKB86 and a new Savanna RX-7.

At least there was the prototype of the 1/18 Lamborghini Veneno and the new Fiat 131 Abarth.

Everything else on the quite large diecast corner in the Kyosho booth came from other manufacturers like FrontiArt, Ertl or Premium ClassiXX.

Event : All Japan Model & Hobby Show – Tomytec

Tomytec powers up ! The biggest surprise of the show (in 1/64th scale) was the prototype of the GT-R Nismo that will be released in the Tomica Limited Vintage Neo line. Tomytec always said that the TLV line would include only “common cars from the Showa period”. A few cars from early 90’s made it through the TLV Neo but hope to see cars from late 90’s or even 2000’s were very low. It seems the succes of the Nissan IDx pushed them to change their mind. The GT-R as LV-N100 opens new horizons and is very exciting news for collectors.

LV-N101 Nissan GT-R Nismo N-attack Package (available in March 2015)

The prototype of the Toyota Town Ace from the 80’s was on display too, and to prove the new position of the TLV line the prototype of the Toyota Century second generation (1997) was also present.

A new model with a nice livery will be added to the Snake Motors line, the Toyota Crown Hard Top from the 2 Beat synchronized driving team.

The Nagashi Curry Clipper was displayed with the fake commercial published in Setagaya Base magazine it originated from. Yes, that’s Takeshi Kitano disguised as a japanese farmer.

After Snake Motors and Crazy Ken’s Car Club, Tomytec is ready to introduce two new sub-collections called Nihonsha no Jidai (that can loosely be translated as ‘Japanese Cars Generation’) and Nihon no Motorsport Shi wo Furikaette (‘Remembering Japanese Motorsport’).

Top : ‘Nihonsha no Jidai’ Datsun 1200 Truck and Toyopet Crown American versions with left hand drive.
Bottom : LV-15d Datsun 1200 Truck Yamashino and ‘Nihon no Motorsport Shi wo Furikaette’ Toyopet Crown Australia Rally version.

More models for 2015, with no reference number yet.
